Sugar, not Salt

The FDA is making a push to reduce the consumption of salt, not sugar.  Is that because there is no lobby or special interests to prevent the government agency from taking on the diverse food manufacturers that can easily comply, just use less salt?  To try to curtail sugar consumption and thus avoid obesity and other major health factors (causing high blood pressure) the FDA would have to confront the Department of Agriculture and the big subsidized corn producers and a lot more.  This is a diversionary tactic.
