Big Pharma’s Grip


The largest lobby in Washington DC is the pharmaceutical industry. Their most recent target is generic drugs delay.  An article in the Times of 1/13 entitled Deals to Restrain Generic Drugs Face a Ban in Health Care Bill reports how the pharmaceutical industry has routinely been paying generic drug makers to delay making their drug available. The article states that these are collusive price-fixing deals. Some members of Congress are asking that these business deals be blocked and want this provision to be added to the health care legislation.  Amen!
